    About the UULE Generator

The UULE parameter is how Google Search encodes a searcher's location inside a URL. Adding &uule= to a Google search link makes Google return the results, map pack, and ads it would show to someone in that place. This makes it one of the most practical tools for local SEO: you can check how a page ranks in Mumbai, Pune, or Chennai from wherever you are, without a VPN, proxy, or paid rank tracker.

There are two formats. UULE v1 starts with the fixed prefix "w+CAIQICI", followed by one character that encodes the byte length of the location name (taken from a 64-character Base64 alphabet), followed by the Base64-encoded canonical name, for example "Bengaluru,Karnataka,India". Because the length is stored in a single character, v1 names are limited to 63 bytes. UULE v2 starts with "a+" and contains a Base64-encoded, protobuf-style text block with a role, producer, radius in metres, and latitude and longitude multiplied by 10,000,000 (the "e7" format). v2 is useful when you need a precise point, such as a neighbourhood, a shopping mall, or a competitor's street.

Canonical names come from Google's Geo Targets list, published as a CSV file in the Google Ads API documentation. Each entry has a canonical name in the form "City,Region,Country", and the UULE only works when that name is used exactly. This tool includes presets for major Indian metros such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, as well as common US, UK, Canadian, Australian, UAE, and German cities. Choosing a preset also sets a matching Google domain and country code.

For reliable results, set gl (the country code) and hl (the interface language) along with the UULE. A mismatched gl, for example a Delhi UULE with gl=us, can blend signals from two countries. Always open the generated link in a private or incognito window: being signed in, location history, and cookies can override the parameter. Google does not officially document UULE, so treat the output as a strong indication of local results rather than a guarantee, and re-check periodically.

    Questions

    What is a UULE parameter?
UULE is an undocumented Google Search URL parameter (&uule=) that tells Google which location to treat the search as coming from. SEO specialists use it to see local search results, map packs, and ads for a city without being physically there or using a VPN.
How do I generate a UULE code for a city?
Enter the city's canonical name in the format "City,Region,Country" (for example "Bengaluru,Karnataka,India") or pick a preset. The tool encodes it as "w+CAIQICI" plus a length character plus the Base64 of the name. You can then add it to any Google search URL with &uule=.
What is the difference between UULE v1 and v2?
v1 (starting with w+CAIQICI) encodes a place name from Google's geotarget list, so it works at city, region, or country level. v2 (starting with a+) encodes exact latitude and longitude in e7 units plus a radius, which is useful for neighbourhood-level checks or places that have no canonical name.
Where do I find the correct canonical name for a location?
Google publishes the full list as the Geo Targets CSV in the Google Ads API documentation. Use the "Canonical Name" column exactly as written, including commas and no extra spaces. If a name is misspelled, Google silently ignores the UULE and falls back to your real location.
Why does my UULE not change the search results?
Common causes are a canonical name that is not on Google's list, a gl country that conflicts with the location, being signed in to a Google account with location history, or cached cookies. Open the URL in a private window, match gl to the location's country, and check the name against the Geo Targets CSV. Because UULE is undocumented, Google can also change or ignore it at any time.
Can I decode an existing UULE string?
Yes. Paste the UULE value or the whole Google search URL into the Decode tab. v1 values are decoded back to the canonical location name, and v2 values are decoded to latitude, longitude, and radius.
Does UULE work on Bing or other search engines?
No. UULE is specific to Google Search. Bing uses its own parameters such as cc (country) and setlang (language) and does not support city-level location in the URL.
Is my location data sent to a server?
No. Encoding and decoding run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. The "Use my location" button reads your position only on your device, and nothing is stored or uploaded.
